Bleed Husker Red: VIRTUAL Blood Drive

Nebraska Alumni and friends of UNL, are you looking to participate in homecoming activities at a distance? If so, you to can participate in Nebraska's Bleed Husker Red blood drive.

Give blood during the week of September 30th and record it here.  To get started, schedule an appointment to give blood and register here on unl.givepulse.com. After your appointment, come back to Virtual Blood Drive and add an impact. Generally, the time frame for donating blood is approximately an hour.

Here are few general guidelines as to who is eligible to be a blood donor:

• 17 years or older - 16 with parental consent
• At least 110 pounds
• Free of antibiotics for 24 hours, unless taken for preventative reasons
• Symptom-free for at least 72 hours following a cold or flu
• Tattoos or body piercings from a licensed establishment may result in a 7 day deferral
