About

The Husker Civic Reading Challenge, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is a part of the Husker Civic Challenge. To honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy, UNL faculty, staff, and students will go out into the community and read to children at local child care centers. This event is hosted in partnership with Read Aloud Lincoln and Prosper Lincoln.

We will be presenting a training session in partnership with Read Aloud Lincoln on how to full an hour of reading to children and keep it engaging. On Friday, January 17 from 12-1 will be an open house style training and then from 1-2 there will be a fill 60 minute training. If you attend one or both of these sessions you will not be required to come and check in 30 minutes prior to heading to your service site.

The training is located in Center for Civic Engagement (Nebraska Union Suite 222).

SOME SITES MAY REQUIRE THAT YOU MUST HAVE RECEIVED A FLU SHOT FOR THE 2019-2020 FLU SEASON PRIOR TO THE EVENT IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE.
