Description
Have a heart for international service? Come on the Guatemala Service-Study ASB! We will be working with Constru Casa to build basic housing for families living in extreme poverty. Constru Casa works with local social organizations to identify families in need. Participants will have the opportunity to work alongside a family and engage in a homestay experience. This ASB experience will include a number of excursions to historic sites in Guatemala. Overall, this ASB opportunity will allow students to experience the Guatemalan culture along with serving and learning. The dates will be May 5th-12th.The cost is estimated at $2,100, which includes transportation, lodging, and food. Tuition is additional.
Requirement Details
Spanish is not needed but preferred
UNL student
Minimally good physical shape i.e. we're walking upwards to 500 ft., carrying up to 80 pounds, and must be open-minded

Cultural activities include salsa dancing, visiting a chocolate factory, touring coffee farms and women's weaving cooperative, staying with a local family and eating traditional Guatemalan foods
Parking DetailsMust have transportation to and from the airport
