Catholic Social Services

"Now there are a variety of Gifts but the same Spirit" 1 Cor 12:4. Catholic Social Services offers support for those in need in our Community and throughout Nebraska.   Some ways to get involved with Catholic Social Services include: St. Joseph Center,  sharing duties in our Food Pantry, Sandwich Program, Diaper, Disaster, and food drives. Assisting our Administrative staff and Social Services.  Getting teamed with a Family through our Friends of Refugee Department, Tutoring, Homework Help and ELL/Citizenship Classes.   The St. Louise Gift and Thrift Store, assisting in receiving Donations: quality control, Display and Design of Merchandise, Cashiering.  In partnering through Volunteer to Missionary Discipleship Commission, opportunities for Group/individual projects and "Created to Completion" projects.  A number of needs are apparent for our disabled, aged or refugee clients: providing transportation, advocating and assisting with language or physical barriers. This is an excellent opportunity for Education and Social Science majors. Giannas Java and Gelato and Warehouse also provide and opportunity for Food Service and Industrial/ Engineering majors.
Ultimately we are about service to one another, to be the face of Jesus Christ to our community through the Grace of God the Father.
A regular schedule will be set based on your availability. Training is required, and a mandatory background check for all who are 19 and over. You are the gift, you determine the time, even the littlest is a blessing.
