Become a part of Lincoln Parks and Recreation and provide opportunities for Lincoln youth and families to enjoy the best of what Lincoln has to offer. Some areas to get involved in at the Lincoln Parks and Recreation office include: youth basketball and volleyball, officiating youth sports, summer lifeguarding, arborists, athletic training for youth and adult sports, computer website assistance, serving at nature centers for Lincoln wildlife. There are also special events that require volunteers, including the Special Olympics and the Hershey Track Meet for youth 9-14 years of age. There are many locations across Lincoln. Training is required for some activities, but the number of hours varies. Both one-time and long-term commitments are available, and there are various days and times open for volunteers to work. Durable clothing is recommended.
