The mission of Bridge Behavioral Health is to create a safe, non-threatening, supportive, encouraging environment, offering a continuum of substance abuse services for individuals in need of detoxification and treatment. Offered services include: Civic Protective Custody, Voluntary Medical Detoxification, Short Term Residential Treatment (men only), Short Term Respite, Intermediate Residential Treatment (men only), Domestic Violence Intervention Program, and Intensive Outpatient Program. Some ways to serve at the Bridge Behavioral Center include general cleaning, assembling admissions packets, assisting with putting property away, making juice and sandwiches, and making PC/Detox charts. Bridge Behavioral Health is located in the Haymarket, within walking distance of city campus. There are excellent opportunities here for criminal justice, health, psychology, mental health, sociology, and political science majors. It's recommended to wear durable clothing. No training is required, and the number of hours varies.
