Voices of Hope

About

Voices of Hope provides 24-hour crisis counseling, intervention, referrals, and empowerment to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and incest. Some ways to get involved at Voices of Hope are by: working the crisis line; providing legal and medical advocacy to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and incest; educating the community about these crimes; providing needed counseling services; facilitating a group; providing childcare; assisting with fundraising and resource development; donating skills and resources to the talent bank; and working on special projects, such as yard work, cleaning, and painting. Internships are available for graduates and undergraduates. This is an excellent opportunity for psychology, sociology, and counseling majors. A regular schedule will be set based on your availability. A six-month commitment is requested. Training is required and held 3 times per year, and a screening process and background check is performed for all volunteers.
