During these 3 volunteer hours, I completed my service learning project. I am happy to have finished my final 3 hours and am excited to be able to reflect on my work and see my hard work pay off. I think that I was fairly successful in these final 3 hours because I worked hard and everything seemed to go smoothly. I didn't have much difficulties in this time and I think I was more motivated to finish and work hard knowing these were my final hours. The only thing that I am not totally happy about is the fact that I did not complete my transcription on the June Investigates Fireflies video, but I completed my volunteer hours and don't have much of a desire to do more if I don't have to. I hope that someone in my group can finish that transcription to complete their final hours. Overall, I am proud of my work and hope to see the transcriptions of my videos applied and posted soon.

In these volunteer hours, I continued to transcribe the video titled "June Investigates Fireflies". I transcribed a little over 10 minutes of the video in these volunteer hours. I feel like I am getting into a rhythm of this speaker's voice, but in thee volunteer hours it was a bit difficult to always hear what she was saying because she wasn't on screen at all times. For about 5 minutes that I transcribed, the speaker was not shown on screen but was talking in depth about the anatomy of a firefly in comparison to other insects. When the speaker was off screen, it was harder to get exactly what she was saying because I couldn't read her lips at all, and also because she was using some scientific terms that I hadn't heard before. I hope that in my final volunteer hours I am successful and use what I learned in these hours to finish my time volunteering for Morrill Hall successfully.

During these 4 hours, I began to transcribe a new video. This video is titled June Investigates Fireflies. Within these four hours I was able to work through 1/4 of the video, which I think is a really great start. This video is very different from the first video I transcribed because it is only one speaker. I like the way this video is set up much more because I have been able to understand the way she talks and understand her clearly. The only thing that has been difficult about transcribing this video so far is how the speed of the spearker's voice can change very rapidly. At some points she talks very slow and then the next sentence she may ramble on and talk quickly which makes it difficult to keep up. I think that for the remaining 30 minutes of this video I will be able to work smoothly, especially after getting accustomed to her voice and speed changes throughout the first 10 minutes. This video has been easier than the last one to transcribe, so I am excited to keep working on this video and hope to be able to complete the remainder of my volunteer hours by transcribing it.

During these two volunteer hours I was able to finish transcribing the first video that I had started. The video was 35 minutes long in its entirety and took me until today to complete. I have been working on transcribing this video for all of my previous volunteer hours and am very happy to be done with it. I saw today that I had trouble keeping focus as I was in the final stretch of this video. As I had watched many parts multiple times, I began to get bored of the same topic and repetition, but am very proud of myself for completing it. I hope that in the next video I transcribe that things will go more smoothly and I will be able to work much faster.

During these volunteer hours, I continued working on transcribing the Painting Paleo video for Morrill Hall. I was able to complete nearly 10 minutes of the video by working for 2 continuous hours. I feel like I was able to get more "in the zone" while working for this longer stretch of time. I did get distracted at times, but I had a good rhythm going and was being more successful than in previous volunteer hours. I thought these were two very productive hours and that I was successful. I am proud of the work I did during this time and hope to continue this momentum in my next week of volunteering. I only have about 5 minutes left in this video, and I am happy to be so close to finishing it. I have put in about 7 hours so far into the transcription of this video and it makes me proud to see my work coming to an end and having completed something finally. I will continue this readiness for success and completion in my next volunteer hours and really hope to finish this video this week!

During my volunteer time today, I continued to transcribe the same video for Morrill Hall that I have been previously working on. I feel like I am really getting a hang of transcribing videos and getting in rhythm with when to start and stop the video. I am also getting better at hearing the words and typing them out in the same speed that I hear them spoken. I think that there was absolutely a learning curve with learning how to transcribe these videos, but now I am over halfway done with my first video, and hope to finish it in the next week or two. I have about 15 minutes in the video left, but feel like I am in the final stretch. I hope to keep this good rhythm and continue to move faster and faster when transcribing videos. It's much more fun when you feel confident in what you're doing and feel as if you are making good progress.

For this hour, I continued working on transcribing a video for Morrill Hall. I thought that when I completed my first two hours that I got into a bit of a rhythm, but I seemed to work slower in this hour. The speaker changed in the few minutes of the video that I was transcribing and his voice was difficult to hear and understand. He spoke quickly and with a scratchy voice that led for me to be stopping the video and constantly replaying sections to hear exactly what he said. It's a lot more difficult to transcribe something when the person speaking is not talking very clearly. I hope that this experience will make for it to be easier in the future if this speaker comes up again in the video. I am almost half way done transcribing this video now and hope to almost finish it in my future volunteer hours next week. Transcribing video is a bit more tedious and difficult then I originally imaged, but I am doing my best to get the hang of it.

For these 2 volunteer hours, I began to transcribe a video for Morrill Hall. I had a bit of a tough time learning how to transcribe the videos and getting into a good rhythm with stopping and listening to the video. I overall think that I was successful during this time and that I got a good portion of the video complete. I expect that next time I volunteer, when I continue to transcribe this video, I will be much faster and more successful.
